SSE Publications for Purchase September 2010

Schemes of Work have been developed to fully deliver the statutory requirements of the new National Curriculum including Key Processes. The completed schemes are non-textbook based, incorporating functional and problem solving tasks and aim to motivate and engage students in mathematics:

There are a huge number of good websites about mathematics, but unfortunately there are also some poor ones...

If you come across a very good site for mathematics, whether it be for teaching or for mathematical interest, please share it with us.

The intention is that a large number of Websites will be highlighted with a brief review on each one. Information on specific pages of particular websites will also be included.

• www.atm.org.uk The Association of Teachers of Mathematics - full of information for teachers in all types of schools.

• www.cut-the-knot.com Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles.

• Insight East
  The aim of this site is to provide organisations with an information gateway to the East of England Region. The site contains a lot of useful info, resources, contacts and datasets.

• Loughborough University FREE Mathscard new
  The Loughborough University 'Maths Card' is a compact information sheet that folds out to a double-sided sheet, about A4 in size. The Formulae on the GCSE and A-level cards were put together by Loughborough University’s Mathematics Education Centre who also provide additional maths support for Loughborough students. Order your FREE card

• vtc.ngfl.gov.uk - teacher resource exchange Post-16 Virtual Teacher Centre mathematics pages.

• www.nrich.maths.org.uk a really rich resource, for extending students, with new activities each month; use the Archive to find activities and solutions from previous months. My favourite!

  is about helping teachers and pupils to get more from statistics. For pupils, datasets you can download and include in your own projects, free of charge. For teachers, lesson plans and worksheets, which you are free to download and use in class.
