The ICT Team provides high quality up-to-date bespoke training, consultancy and guidance for schools to support them with their crucial role of school improvement and safeguarding.   We offer a one-stop shop, bringing together a wide range of expert knowledge, skills and information to support all areas of ICT within schools.  The team is able to provide a flexible, creative and innovative approach which meets the needs of individual schools, ensuring sustainability and value for money. 

The Hertfordshire ICT Team is well recognised for providing an extensive range of support, training and guidance which includes:

  • Strategic planning for Senior Leaders and governors
  • eSafety guidance, incident management and training
  • The application of new and emerging technologies in the classroom
  • Monitoring, review and support of ICT across the school
  • Innovative and creative use of ICT across the curriculum
  • Effective development and use of learning platforms technologies, virtual learning environments, moodle VLEs and school website to engage pupils and raise standards. 
  • ICT curriculum review, planning and development
  • Specialist support for the ICT subject leader
  • ICT training on software for staff, governors, parents and carers
  • Review of learning through lesson observations, monitoring of pupil work, moderating teachers planning and pupil voice
  • Working with all members of the school community including governing bodies, support staff, pupils and parents.

The ICT Advisers are highly experienced, very knowledgeable and have a good understanding of the latest national and local ICT developments.   They are well regarded across Hertfordshire and are recognised nationally.  The Advisers are accredited ICT Mark Assessors and are also CEOP trained.

School Based Support / CPD

All Key Stages

ICT development for your TAs & Support Staff

The ICT team has a tried and tested in-school programme for  classroom support staff. We can support you in auditing their ICT skills and confidence and plan individual support sessions or a full programme to build their capability in this important area. 

The training would take place in your school and could include such areas as:

  • Basic software training
  • Text and graphic processing including picture editing
  • Sound and film capture and editing including stop animation
  • Use of online spaces and resources, including the school learning platform
  • Data handling including databases and datalogging
  • Control and monitoring devices and software
  • Interactive whiteboard training and development
  • Safe use of ICT

Our control activities support your school with meeting the requirements of the ICT curriculum and develop cross-curricular ICT.

Secondary ICT Support & Guidance

The Secondary ICT team is an integral part of Standards and School Effectiveness and provides bespoke training, support and guidance tailored to suit the individual needs of schools. This support is for teachers, ICT Subject Leaders, ICT Strategic Leaders and Senior Leaders.
