Additional Funding for ICT - Standards Grant 121aDuring the Autumn Term 2006, Hertfordshire LA were informed of an additional in-year Standards Fund Grant for ICT. This Grant is intended to develop and improve strategic technologies and move institutions to a position where ICT is treated as a utility through strategic, aggregated purchase. We have arranged two sessions, at Hertfordshire Development Centre, to provide schools with further detailed information. All three suppliers (RM (Kaleidos); Digitalbrain; Netmedia) will be present. Details of the models available, how to place your order and the special order form itself are available at: Hertfordshire Business Services (HBS) are aggregating the orders for all schools and the closing date for placing the order will be Wednesday 28th February 2007. It will not be possible to accept orders after this date. Update 7 December 2006Last month we informed schools of the new additional in-year Standards Fund Grant for ICT, 121a. This Grant is intended to develop and improve strategic technologies and move institutions to a position where ICT is treated as a utility through strategic, aggregated purchase. Whilst this additional funding has been welcomed by schools, we have become aware that for a number of schools, the initial two identified areas of spending may not meet their current needs. Whilst we are required to make centralised purchases which comply with the guidance for this grant, we do wish to support schools in maximising the potential of this funding for the strategic development of ICT. Following consultation with the ICT in Schools Partnership Working Group, it has been agreed that the eligible areas for this funding will be expanded to include laptops and data projectors, as these form part of a whole class teaching solution. This means that the areas of focus for this grant are now:
If your school has already selected an area of development in accordance with the previous options and you are happy with that choice, you need do nothing. However, if you wish to change your choice we ask that you complete a new selection form which will be mailed to schools this week and is also available below. In the light of the above amendments to the previous arrangements, which we hope are positive for schools, the deadline for the return of selection forms has now been extended to 3rd January 2007.
