What is the
Self-Review Framework
Becta's self-review framework offers you a route for assessing and improving your school's use of ICT. The framework is free to use via an online tool and is linked to the national standards for ICT. It can help:
- show you what "good" use of ICT looks like
- benchmark your progress against other schools
- identify your strengths
- produce action plans for improvement
Further information can be found at:
Online
Self-Review Tool
The self-review framework is an online tool which enables schools to assess and benchmark their use of ICT across all their activities. It enables schools to identify where they are, and shows the practical steps they can take to improve their ICT use to benefit the organisation. In many areas, it complements the work schools currently undertake for Ofsted’s Self Evaluation Framework.
Training/CPD Course
Introduction to the BECTA self-review framework & ICT Mark
This half day course has been designed to provide delegates with a detailed overview of the new Becta self-review framework and the related ICT mark.
ICT Mark
The ICT Mark is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme which gives schools recognition for their achievements in reaching a standard of maturity in their use of technology.
In order to gain the new award, the schools have to demonstrate that in addition to meeting the criteria set for Naacemark, they meet criteria focusing on the impact of ICT on:
- pupils' progress in developing ICT capability
- the impact of ICT on attitudes and behaviour and
- pupils' progress in their wider learning, including creativity
