Review of the ICT Sharing Good Practice Conference Week

This was an ICT Conference with a difference! The theme was, 'Sharing good practice', and it had something for everyone...

activity at Crabtree Juniors...Before the Conference

  • In the four days leading up to the conference, primary and secondary teachers could choose to attend an ICT, 'sharing good practice' event, hosted by local schools across the county. These events ranged from demonstration ICT lessons to presentations on new technologies.
  • Primary school teachers were given the opportunity to enter their best schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments of pupils' work, in a, 'Best ICT Practice competition' and win excellent prizes for their school.

During the Conference day itself there were:

  • Keynote speakers who delivered unforgettable presentations on 'Embedding ICT into the curriculum', 'Looking at a new Learning Landscape' and 'Painting a vision of the way teaching & learning may develop in the future'
  • Exhibitors from a range of software, hardware and ICT services represented.
  • Important information from Becta on how to get access to instant ICT advice at any time
  • Ten seminar topics to choose from ranging across phases and subjects & including the SEN perspective.
  • An excellent delegate bag of goodies to take away
  • 'red coated' members of the ICT team on hand to attend to the delegates' every need!
