Good Practice - Case StudySt.Luke’s School School No: 635 ICT in Special Schools
Our pupils have a wide range of differing special needs. They all have moderate learning difficulties working up to Level 3. Some have more severe problems and are nearer P5 level. Others have sight impairment and need adapted screens and resources to access the curriculum. Through our link with Heathlands School in St Albans, we have a number of pupils with hearing impairment who work with communicators. In addition, we have a high proportion of pupils on the autistic spectrum some high functioning, some who are unable to speak directly to anyone. Other pupils are limited in their physical capability through cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, and degenerative illnesses. The great thing is that ICT is accessible to all pupils with careful planning, preparation and delivery. Oh…….and lots of enthusiasm!! Samples from Work of the Week Display Boar
