Digital Sound Project

Sound Morpher image... Creating resources to support the use of the sound recording in Literacy.

This project was designed to explore how recording and manipulating digital sound can support learning in Literacy. The resources used were Tag Digital Animation Station and the Coomber Digital Listening Post.

The Digital Animation Station is effectively a sound capture device that can record up to 4 minutes of sound away from the computer. The sound files can then be downloaded via a simple connection into the computer and the files can be edited and other effects added using the software supplied with the Station. The Digital Listening Post is an updated verion of the shared tape listening devices already in many classrooms and enables up to six pupils to attach headphones to the computer for shared listening.

Schools involved in the project explored the technology and developed activities and lesson plans linked to their Literacy sessions.
