Clipart from http://office.microsoft.comSummercroft Junior School is a two-form entry school in Bishop’s Stortford with 240 children on role, who transfer mainly from Summercroft Infants on the same site.

In January 2001 an OfSTED team visited the school and carried out a four-day inspection. Many strengths in teaching and learning were identified, but amongst areas deemed unsatisfactory was the ICT provision. The teaching and delivery of ICT was acknowledged to be satisfactory, but a lack of computers, coupled with the children’s unsatisfactory attainment, made the overall judgement unsatisfactory. As a result of this inspection the school was identified as having serious weaknesses.
