Case StudyGreat Gaddesden Primary School School No: 904 Using Tablet PCs in a Small School
As a member of the small schools’ working party for ICT, I was delighted to have the opportunity to explore the potential of tablet PCs in my village school. There are three main benefits of purchasing these ‘laptop type’ computers in small school settings; firstly the compactness when space is an issue, secondly the ease of portability between classes and lastly their robustness. There are of course other positive features to mention about the tablet
PCs, which are not specific to a small school setting. During our ‘trial’ with
year 5 and 6 pupils, there was a climate of enthusiasm and motivation
and the pupils were on task and well focused. |
