Delegation from Gaungzhou, China visits Hertfordshire for the day

On 24th June 2002 we were honoured by a visit from a group of educationalists from China. Lead by Dr Hua - Deputy Director of the Gaungzhou Education Bureau. This was a short reciprocal visit to us, as a party of Herts Teachers had visited Gaungzhou for a Study Visit, over the Easter holidays this year.

The visit was a great success after an official welcome the guests were treated to some presentations about our work at WDC and the ICT team in particular. This was followwed by lunch and then off to Greenway First school for a first hand look at teaching ICT across the curriculum.

Today, Monday 24th June, we are very pleased to welcome a delegation from the Guangzhou Education Bureau, who are visiting us on the last leg of a Study visit to the UK. Amongst the delegates are some of the Heads & Principals of the schools we visited.

This afternoon they will be welcomed by Bobby Cadwallader (Head teacher) and Sue Bolton (ICT co-ordinator) at Greenway First school, where they will meet teachers and pupils and observe the use of ICT in the curriculum. We extend a very warm welcome to them all and hope that the links we have already made, will become stronger as a result of this visit.
