Herts Healthy Schools Toolkit

Schools play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Hertfordshire Healthy Schools toolkit is designed to help schools to 'plan, do and review' health and wellbeing improvements for their children and young people and to identify and select activities and interventions effectively. This approach will ensure schools put in place the most appropriate services and meet the needs of children and young people.

The Hertfordshire toolkit is based on a health behaviour change approach for schools and includes:

  • A whole school review template and suggested examples
  • An action plan template for your schools identified priority
  • Supporting information to help you identify needs, define health and wellbeing outcomes, select activities/interventions and review achievements
  • Examples of schools making health and wellbeing improvements
