HABI Your Say - A Hertfordshire Anti-bullying Pupil Voice Initiative

HABI ‘Your Say’ is an exciting and innovative programme which supports pupil voice in anti-bullying across Hertfordshire and is the young people’s consultation group which underpins the Hertfordshire Anti-Bullying Initiative.

Schools are always seeking more effective ways to gather and feedback on the opinions, experiences, suggestions and solutions of young people. HABI ‘Your Say’ benefits individual schools taking part as well as the county as a whole.

Our first 4 surveys have been on:

  • transition to secondary school and confidence in the system
  • bullying about appearance
  • cyberbullying
  • homophobia

Aspects selected are areas which according to local data are priority concerns.

Children on Bullying Report

Giving their views and concerns about bullying were children and young people living away from home, getting help from children’s social care services and care leavers. This report analyses and synthesises three sources of data: away-day discussions with children and young people, question cards, and discussions with children and young people in a residential setting.
