Welcome to Hertfordshire’s County Youth Music Groups!

We hope very much that you will want to get involved with one or more of our County Groups. All eight groups enjoy an exciting variety of activities, courses and concerts.

You will get the chance to work with professional conductors and tutors who will really inspire you and help take your playing to the next level.

Concerts are held both in Hertfordshire and further afield (usually london) and there are great  opportunities to go on residential courses, tours and also to take part in recordings.

How the County Groups work

Can I join?
If you go to school in Hertfordshire or your family home is in Hertfordshire (eg if you are at school, college, university elsewhere)

How do I join?
You need to audition for a full place. There are chances throughout the year to join on a one-off basis depending on the pieces being played. Either way - contact us.
YOU MUST COMMIT TO ALL YOUR GROUPS DATES FOR THE SEASON

How much will it cost?
The daily course fee breaks down to roughly £20 per day. Residential courses & tours are quoted separately.

Is there any help towards the costs?
There are limited bursary funds you can apply for.
A Remission of Fees scheme applies if you receive free instrumental tuition.

 

Friends of Herts County Youth Music Groups

The Friends are a great way for your parents and families to get involved in supporting the groups. Discounts on all concert ticket prices apply to members!
