In developing geographical skills, pupils should be taught
- to use an extended geographical vocabulary
- to select and use appropriate fieldwork skills and instruments
- to use atlases and globes, maps and plans at a range of scales including 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 Ordnance Survey
- to select and use secondary sources of evidence, photographs, satellite images and ICT based sources
- to draw maps and plans at a range of scales using symbols. keys and scales
- to select and use appropriate graphical techniques on maps and diagrams
- communicate in different ways, including using ICT
- experience decision making skills including using ICT
