School Based Support/CPD

The following are examples of school based support sessions. In addition, we can deliver any CPD courses which are listed in the termly courses brochure sent to schools, which can also be viewed online at:

Supporting children with EAL skills in the EYFS

This session develops practitioner knowledge of bilingual language acquisition and examines how provision can support the needs of young EAL learners in the EYFS.

Promoting Diversity throughout the EYFS

This session uses internationally standardised Environmental Rating scales assessments to support the development of an environment rich in stimulating discussions about diversity and difference with young children.

Effective welcome in your school-supporting systems and environments to provide a welcome for all

A welcoming school is in the eye of the beholder-this session supports schools to examine their admissions procedures, the transition of young children and their parents into the school setting the scene for effective parent involvement in children's learning from the start.

Working together to spot the potential and safeguard outcomes for children with SEND in the Early Years

This session provides starting points, direction and practical ideas to identify, plan and support children with SEND in the Foundation Stage and into Y1. Providing information on 'Early Support'; liaising with pre-school Inclusion Development officers, pre-school settings and Children's Centres enables progress of this vulnerable group to be supported. Using materials from the Early Years Inclusion Development Programme will support staff to develop strategies to provide an inclusive environment for children with speech, language and communication needs, Autism, and behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
