Motivating Young Children to Write
The staff of Peartree Spring Infants School have worked on developing children’s writing
Motivation Chlidren are encouraged to see themselves as writers and staff have developed a range of strategies to motivate children. Children are encouraged to write in a variety of forms and for a wide range of purposes. Teachers have been particularly successful in developing quality writing at Level 1 – so making a successful bridge between the Early Learning Goals and Level 2. The school has a consistent approach to teaching writing both in terms of their creative approach and their teaching of basic skills. The following pictures illustrate just some of the ideas used in the school.
