School Self-Evaluation of Assessment

The following documents have been produced to assist schools with evaluating their assessment practices and identifying their next steps. These documents have been produced jointly between the Assessment Team and the Primary Strategy team, adapted from materials produced nationally by the CIEA.

The aim is that schools can download and use these materials to form their own self-evaluation, although schools can also if they prefer contact us for direct support with evaluating their practice and developing an effective action plan. Example of co-produced action plans are available below.

The quality standards relate to the following three areas of assessment:
- Leadership and Management of assessment
- Day-to-day assessment processes (focusing on formative aspects of assessment or ‘AfL’)
- Periodic assessment processes (‘APP’)
