Embedding Education for Sustainable Development in the Curriculum

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is becoming increasingly relevant, and a growing number ofschools are seeking to embed ESD principles in their curriculum planning. Howe Dell School in Hatfield, Hertfordshire's first purpose built eco-school, has introduced an enriched ESD curriculum with sustainable principles at its core.

The award-winning curriculum, launched in February, is about making small changes and introducing projects that can easily be incorporated into school life. A copy has been sent to all nursery, primary and special schools in Hertfordshire but can also be downloaded below:
