New Headteacher Induction ProgrammeThe Hertfordshire induction programme for new headteachers is designed to assist the process of initiation to headship, introduce colleagues (where appropriate) to Hertfordshire County Council Children's Services, and support colleagues in balancing the practical demands of their new role with personal leadership development. Although there are some differences in the content and structure of the programmes for primary, special and secondary colleagues, the broad pattern is as follows. Component parts:
Handing Over Headship – A Toolkit for SchoolsThe toolkit is offered to schools as an example of best practice in ensuring the smooth handover from one headteacher to another and results from a research project undertaken in Hertfordshire LA during the spring and summer terms 2006.
