Leadership Conferences

A wide range of training, from Headteacher conferences to occasional seminars on current leadership issues, exists to support and develop leadership at all levels. The annual conferences for headteachers from all phases are an important feature of Hertfordshire's support for school leaders.

For both primary and secondary/special school colleagues, the emphasis is on providing high quality content and speakers of national significance, in appropriate surroundings, so that heads can learn about, debate and reflect upon important issues. In order to ensure this quality, groups of heads and relevant advisers/officers work together to plan content, format and speakers.

The present pattern is:

  • for primary headteachers, a two day residential conference in the Autumn term
  • for secondary headteachers, a two day residential followed by a half day in the Autumn.
  • for special school headteachers, a two day residential conference in the Autumn term
