Local Partnerships

Local Partnerships have been established to ensure a mechanism exists to promote a local network of services and to support the increasing transfer of resources to schools and groups of schools.

A lead school will be established for each local partnership. The lead school will hold the funding that is allocated to the partnership in order to:

  • Employ School Family Workers (SFWs) to support parents and families across the local partnership
  • Develop the local partnership arrangements
  • Support the establishment of a partnership management board
  • Develop a mechanism to monitor outcomes and the effectiveness of Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) in meeting local need
  • Secure pathways for children and young people stepping down from the Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) interventions

Local partnerships of schools have already been identified across the Hertfordshire district areas, with a nominated ‘lead’ school for each area. The partnership areas and lead schools are listed in the document below:

Each Local Partnership will employ and deploy a number of School Family Workers (SFWs) who will provide support for children attending schools within the partnership and their families. The SFWs will work closely with the children’s centres within the Local Partnership area to ensure effective, joined-up early intervention support for children and families. They will also work closely with the Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) and the enhanced TAS teams to ensure effective co-ordination of support and smooth step-up / step-down arrangements for children and families between early intervention and targeted support. The caseload for the SFWs will be generated by the schools within the local partnership
