Anti-virus protection is essential for every network, or system with internet access, to avoid 'bugs' infecting your software. Virus attack is becoming more frequent and invasive. Systems with no internet access are also susceptible, as they can be infected using floppy discs or CDs.
The recent Blaster Worm virus was very disruptive, and necessitated expensive and lengthy re-builds where anti-virus protection was not in place.
Schools are free to choose any anti-virus protection from many available
on the market, and it is essential to ensure that this is maintained to
give up-to-date protection.
SITSS provides support for Network Associates McAfee anti-virus software, which offers a reliable and cost effective service, providing automatic on-line updates when connecting to the Grid, assuming it is configured correctly. Upgrades are also mailed to schools who have a network support contract with SITSS.
Your contract for SITSS Anti-Virus Support provides you with licenses to install McAfee on all your curriculum workstations at no additional cost, provided you have purchased licences for all your admin systems.
Regrettably, we can no longer distribute McAfee free-of-charge to staff and parents as done previously.

Where appropriate, the following downloads enable you to maintain your anti-virus effectively. If your school holds a SITSS anti-virus contract, our networks support help-desk can assist with any difficulties you may have in carrying out these tasks.

Check which version of Windows you are running, before downloading any appropriate updates:
- On the taskbar, at the bottom of your screen, click Start, and then Run.
- In the Run dialog box, type winver
- Click OK-a dialog box displays which version you are running
Mcafee Version 8.0 Anti Virus Patch new
This patch is for all server based systems
For Example:
- Windows 2003 Server
- Windows 2000 server and
- Windows NT4 Server
This patch resolves issues that include the server blue screening.
INSTALLATION STEPS
- Extract the Patch files from VSE80P07.ZIP to a temporary folder on
your hard drive.
- Double-click the file VSE80P07.EXE inside the temporary folder created
in Step 1.
- Follow the instructions of the installation
wizard.
- When completed you will need to reboot your server.
