Course Information
SITSS courses will provide course members with the necessary ICT skills, knowledge and understanding to help schools use ICT as an effective solution to their administrative and management needs. Our training programme includes a range of courses designed to teach skills which can be employed in almost all aspects of school life.
Course tutors are members of School IT Systems Support, each of whom has a specialist knowledge of ICT systems used within schools. For some courses we include outside speakers and teachers who can demonstrate the contribution particular ICT applications are making to the effectiveness of their schools.
In addition to our published courses, we are able to provide training courses suited to schools precise requirements. These can be held at their school or at the ICT Centre at Hertfordshire Development Centre. Where appropriate, courses are run in conjunction with colleagues who have a particular specialisation.
Please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Where there is high demand, we will try to schedule extra courses. Booking SITSS courses is now available through the Hertfordshire Councy Council on-line booking system. You can book courses and will electronically receive your confirmation and parking permit. We can accommodate 2 delegates sharing a computer on SIMS courses only. In this case, the second delegate is charged at half price. Course materials are provided one per computer, an additional set can be requested at a cost of £25. Regrettably sharing computers is not appropriate for Microsoft courses.
The published prices are for Hertfordshire Schools making payment through the Biscuit Direct Debit system. Other schools and other payment methods can be accommodated, for more information please contact our course bookings adviser on 01438 844777 * 2 followed by *3. Some prices are dependant on the level of contract purchased from School IT Systems Support. Please refer to your copy of the School IT Systems Support Annual Support Contract 2009/2010. Please be prompt for your courses, especially when you are bringing in working data which needs to be loaded. Should you need to cancel a booking, please advise us as early as possible so that your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list. Please bring your booking confirmation with you when you attend the course.
