Strategic Development of ICT - Management Information Systems (Best Value Review)
During 2005 / 2006 Hertfordshire County Council undertook a Best Value Review of the Management Information Systems for Schools. The Exercise was conducted by a Project Group that included the ICT in Schools Partnership Working Group (ICT PWG), HCC and LA Officers and school representatives.
The group, led by the ICT PWG, agreed:
- For Primary schools there appeared to be no evidence / grounds for them to change from SIMS
- Secondary, Middle and Special schools are better placed to realise the potential benefits offered by the Serco Facility CMIS solution, but should undertake a careful ICT self-review process before changing their software supplier.
That is; we recommend that Secondary, Middle and Special Schools use either:
- CapitaES's SIMS
- Serco's Facility CMIS
