This statement is intended to assist schools in considering the relevance of best value principles to the expenditure of funds from their delegated budget share.  When submitting annual budget plans, schools are required to say how best value principles are being followed.

As advertised in the Schools bulletin, the page 1 summary of the School Budget Share document (CFR summary) has been made available to schools in advance of the paper copies. Budget Share documents should be received in schools by Wednesday 16 March 2011.

Please note that the CFR Summary information is also published annually in the Section 251 Budget Statement and is available to both schools and the general public via the Internet on the following link:.

Budget Preparation Guidance for Schools

This booklet provides information on a range of issues for schools in the preparation of budgets for 2011/12 to provide schools with a single source of reference for budget setting purposes.

The 2010/11 Budget Preparation Guide includes "The Standards Fund: A Guide for Schools" for details of any standards funds carried forward by schools into the 2011 summer term.
