Offsite Visits Management Training

From September 2007, all courses will take place over one day including the management of Level 1 & 2 visits i.e. regular visits of one day or less duration (swimming, theatre trips, environmental studies, etc) and non-routine activities and residential stays, including adventurous and hazardous activities run by licensed/accredited centres.

The training element of the Offsite Visits Advisory Service became "traded" as of September 2007. The current fee until March 2009 is now £130 per head per day, but does include lunch and refreshments.

A limited amount of condensed training for management Levels 1 & 2 visits may be available within schools' own establishmnets for groups of up to 6 staff maximum, at a charge of £320 by specific arrangement only.

Group Leader Training

This one-day training is focused on active risk assessment and group management and is offered in support of the leader's role on off-site activities and visits.

The course covers the identification of relevant significant hazards and the importance of placing of successful control measures, including supervision and group management strategies.

It provides practical advice in leading groups out of doors and participants should come prepared for a couple of hours walking outside.
