Bespoke training can be provided in school, offering a cost effective option. Some training options are listed below:

  • Learning Platform Administrators Training
    Training aimed at those who will be supporting the management of the Hertfordshire Kaleidos Learning Platform in their school.   Training can include: the structure and organisation of the learning platform; setting up, developing and managing interest spaces; Learning Platform Administrator tasks including managing users, controlling users' options, managing space quotas etc; considerations for the roll out of the learning platform in school.
  • Learning Platform training for Teaching Staff
    Support for teaching staff who are new to the Hertfordshire Kaleidos Learning Platform or needing to build confidence in using it.  Introducing the MySpace and ePortfolio areas, as well as exploring other useful interest spaces on the platform.  Delegates will have hands-on opportunities to develop a space for their class and to reflect on how the learning platform can support learning and teaching for their class/school.
  • Creative use of the Learning Platform: Developing a stimulating interest space to use with your class 
    Training for teaching staff, focusing on the creative and collaborative use of the Hertfordshire Kaleidos Learning Platform. Blogs, wikis, podcasting, video sharing and on-line discussion are a part of pupils' everyday life. The learning platform provides the opportunity to embrace these technologies in a safe and secure way, motivating and engaging learners, within and beyond the classroom. 
  • Express VLE training
    Hands-on training aimed at confident users of ICT who are already making effective use of the Hertfordshire Kaleidos Learning Platform. 

    The aims are to:
    • Introduce the concept of a virtual learning environment (VLE)
    • Raise awareness of the potential benefits of VLE implementation in your school
    • Become familiar with the VLE aspect of the learning platform.

You will develop an exciting unit of work that can be delivered, shared and assessed using the VLE.  You will also be made aware of the various eSafety and copyright issues surrounding the VLE.  You will explore how you can monitor, mark and track progress through
