Hertfordshire Learning Platform FAQs Who do I contact if I have a problem with our Learning Platform?
Who do I contact if I have a problem with our Learning Platform? Contact the RM helpdesk on 0845 4040000.
Who is able to use the Hertfordshire Learning Platform? Core funded accounts are available for all members of staff in a school, including governors. The Learning Platform has a key role in the organisational management of a school, and so we would recommend that any postholder in a school has the use of an account.
Can pupils use the Hertfordshire Learning Platform? updated Pupil accounts for the Learning Platform have not been centrally funded at present. Schools are able to purchase accounts for pupils if they so wish. Each pupil account automatically creates their parent/guardian accounts. Currently these accounts cost £2.50 per pupil per annum.
Our Learning Platform is running very slowly in school, what can we do to speed it up? The speeds you can expect with your Learning Platform are: Logging on should take no more than 20 seconds
There are a number of ways in which the overall performance of the RM Kaleidos Learning Platform can be improved through making adjustments to the settings of the user workstations. However, these should normally only be carried out by those with the relevant technical understanding. In most school systems, only technical staff have the appropriate permissions to make these changes. See the document below for further guidance.
How much will the Learning Platform cost my school? updated Learning Platform accounts have been centrally funded for all school staff, but there are some initial set up costs for schools:
Schools are also asked to consider the time commitment from all staff that a major ICT initiative requires in order to be embedded appropriately.
What software/hardware does the school need to use the Learning Platform? The Learning Platform is a web hosted service, and other than an internet connection and the latest version of Flash Player, there are no requirements for specific hard/software. However, for schools to gain real benefits from the Learning Platform, they would need to have already invested in an MIS system.
