St. Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School
A first port of call for Louise and the youngsters in her year 2
class was the use of discussion forums. Historically the
children had been set the task of doing an extended writing
piece after the summer holidays. Here the children used the
forum to instantly record their thoughts and experiences at
home, ready to be used back at school at a later date. This
proved to be an efficient way of recording their activities, and
meant that more of class time was used to develop their
language skills. It was also a good way for parents to be
more involved with what was going on in school.
